I am so excited!! I have been, but not for several years! I can't wait to see some of my favorite presenters!! Kim Adsit, Shari Sloane, Kim Jordano....and sooo many more!!! I will be taking pictures of new things and posting them on here throughout the week! Can't wait to meet all you fabulous kindergarten teachers out there!!!

First week done, and some free stuff!

The first week of school is done and I have 27 little kindergarteners! I must have a case of kindergarten amnesia because I don't remember them being so brand new to school in previous years :)  Funny how we forget the beginning of the school year every year. I took a nap and then went to bed every night before the sun was down, my feet were aching, my throat was hurting, but I must say things got just a little bit better everyday.  My line was looking half way decent, kids were sitting criss cross a little better, breakfast and lunch were going a little smoother by Friday.  Now the 3 day weekend! Hope they don't forget everything I taught them by Tuesday.  I had a pretty long list of things to get done this weekend and blog posting was my last thing to do so I have checked everything off my list!!! Yay!!

I have been wanting to post some of my favorite Freebies from pinterest and TPT.  I will be teaching nursery rhymes during my daily reading time and have found a great Freebie on pinterest to get me started!  Mrs. Saylor's log has 3 free nursery rhyme units! Gotta love the free stuff!

Another great freebie I have found can be found here.  I found it on pinterest and don't know who to give credit to.  It is a stamp a word center that incorporates initial, medial and final sounds. Love it!!! Thank you!

I found a great number match game at Confessions of a Homeschooler  I haven't put it to use yet, but this is how I put it together.   I glued the printout to a heavy duty paper plate and then stapled a plastic bag to the back with the clothespins inside.

One of my favorite blogs for freebies is Lil Country Kindergarten!! Marlana has tons of free stuff and also has many items to purchase.  One of the things I have found and can't wait to use in my classroom is Number Recognition and Value Printables.  It is amazing!!

So there you go!  These are a few freebies I have found and I hope you can use them.  I am always finding more and more, and will post again! I gotta go now! Getting a very important phone call! :)

Daily 5

I have been searching and reading many blogs about the Daily 5.  I really want to start it this year, but am a little nervous.  I am afraid they will get bored with doing the same things everyday.  Many of the bloggers I have read say that their kinders really love it and they learn so much more than before starting Daily 5.  I am just going to have to take the plunge and see what works best for me.  I did find some awesome free printables while researching Daily 5.  Judy Lau over at Kindertastic has some awesome Daily 5 posters.
Go check them out!

Nursery Rhymes!!!

What are some things you do to teach Nursery Rhymes?  I teach a very high ELL population and every year one of the hardest things for them to master is recognizing rhyming words and producing two words that rhyme.  I love singing songs and rhymes with them and  I am always looking for new ways to help them master these skills.  I was just over at Dr. Jean and friends and she had posted the cutest Nursery Rhyme Juke Box with a four cd free printable. I can't wait to make this!

The entire collection can be purchased at Sharing Kindergarten's TPT store
What are some ways that you teach nursery rhymes to your kiddos?
